Dr. Kristen Mudrack is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Milligan University, where she teaches classes and labs for organic chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, and some general education science classes. Her research focuses on sustainability and green chemistry, and she is grateful to bring these interests into her labs.
Dr. Mudrack has contributed to research on improvements for antibiotics used against Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections that affect Cystic Fibrosis patients. She is an author of “Globally Distributed Drug Discovery of New Antibiotics: Design and Combinatorial Synthesis of Amino Acid Derivatives in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory” in the Journal of Chemical Education. She also leads faculty-mentored research projects on improving antibiotics with her undergraduate students annually.
Dr. Mudrack’s favorite part of serving at Milligan is the ability to build relationships with her students and to see them thrive. She feels blessed to play a role in her students’ lives and strives to model servant-leadership to them.
