Registration
Please register for the 2026 TCHC Conference in advance online by February 14, 2026. You can also register at the door on the day of the conference.
You may attend the conference virtually if you have permission from your Honors director.
You can upload your poster/presentation abstracts and essay contest entries with your registration or after registering. Please see essay information below if you have completed the registration form and want to upload an attachment separately. Submissions are due by January 26, 2026.
Presentation Information
The TCHC conference offers flexibility in the types of presentations. They can be oral presentations or poster presentations.
We welcome all disciplines and ideas, which can come from papers, research proposals, completed research projects, and creative works. These can be completed projects, works-in-progress, or even (researched, but still uncertain) project ideas that students want to pitch for feedback.
- The papers/PPT presentations will be 10-15 minutes in duration (please indicate if you will need audio/visual equipment for your presentation).
- The poster sizes should be 36 x 48 size, standard size. Mounting boards and clips will be provided for this poster size.
Conference Fees
Fees for attending are $40 each for faculty and staff and $20 for each student. This includes the reception on Friday and the lunch on Saturday. Community Colleges are $20 for faculty and staff and $10 for each student.

Means & Ends: Repurposing an Honors Education
John Dewey famously argued that education is not a means to an end, but an end in itself. On those grounds, consider how the ability to think critically remains a vital tool as we adapt to whatever’s next during this age of disruption and technological upheaval.
Which book, person, movie, or song has had the greatest impact on your life? And how? What is it about this individual or work that was so impactful?
- First Prize $200
- Second Prize $100
- Third Prize $50
Requirements
Your essay may take the form of a subjective personal essay, an objective research essay, or some combination of the two.
- 1600 words maximum (including sources, if used)
- No source materials are required, but are allowed (MLA or APA)
- Double-spaced, 2-pt font, and 1” margins
- No identifying name or school information on the document
- Grammarly and all other types of AI prohibited
- Submissions must be. docs or .rtf files
Submissions are due by February 1, 2026.
