Dr. Suzanne Redman serves as an adjunct professor of music education at Milligan University where she teaches elementary music methods and supervises student teachers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from East Tennessee State University and a master’s degree in early childhood and elementary education from Milligan University where her thesis was presented at the 2003 conference of the Mid-South Educational Research Association. Her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis is from East Tennessee State University where her research focused on new teacher attrition and self-efficacy.

Her professional career was dedicated to public elementary school music for more than 30 years and was honored as Elementary Level Teacher of the Year in both Johnson City and Kingsport. In addition to her teaching role, she served in various administrative capacities including as chair of the elementary music teachers in both Johnson City and Kingsport City School districts and as associate principal for Andrew Johnson Elementary for Kingsport City Schools.

Dr. Redman’s deep faith in God has enabled many experiences to serve within the church, including in music ministry. Being part of Milligan’s Music Education department allows her the opportunity to support, teach, and observe students as they learn and grow into educators of “music,” one of God’s most wonderful creations.
