Dr. Stacy Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science in Education (1997, East Tennessee State University), Master of Arts in Education (2005, Cumberland University), Specialist in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (2008, East Tennessee State University), and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (2018, Lipscomb University). Edwards has 25 years of experience within elementary and secondary public education settings. He has served as a classroom teacher, associate principal, and 14 years as an elementary principal.
In 2019, Edwards was recognized as a National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals. He was named district level Principal of the Year in 2019 and 2023. He received the 2017 Meritorious Service Award from the Tennessee Principals Association, and the 2009 Margaret Ayers Humanitarian Award from Sevier Middle School in Kingsport, TN.
In 2015, Edwards represented the National Association of Elementary School Principals as a Lifetouch Memory Mission delegate to build a school in Constanza, Dominican Republic. In 2017, he served as a Confucious Institute delegate to China and recruited teachers for a Chinese Language Program in East Tennessee.
Edwards and his wife, Paula, have two sons, Gabe and Cooper. They attend First Christian Church in Johnson City and enjoy traveling, camping, and baseball.
