11 a.m. Art Exhibit: Mitchell Hancock (’18)
Milligan Art Gallery, Derthick Hall
As an American who grew up in Mexico and later lived in Spain, Mitchell Hancock (’18) spent much of his life as a foreigner. Continuing a photojournalism project he began while at Milligan, “(Y)OUR LAND” is a photographic anthology that shares the stories of foreigners in foreign lands and immigrants searching for home in new places. The exhibit invites viewers to reflect on Christ’s words in Matthew 25:35: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” Refreshments will be provided.

Join Milligan’s area of music for a sentimental journey with timeless tunes inspired by the USO shows that entertained thousands of troops during World War II. This short, family-friendly concert will feature each of the Milligan instrumental and vocal ensembles, and they will perform jazz and swing numbers that were originally performed by Bing Crosby, Glenn Miller, the Andrews Sisters, and more.
