Senior Pastor

Rise Church is a Bible believing, Bible teaching, and independently governed congregation located outside Chicago in Dyer, IN. Their focus is to live and love like Jesus. Dyer is a medium sized suburban ‘bedroom community’ located southeast of Chicago. The church itself is a small, relatively young church. As such, it is not as well known as other churches in the area; however, it has partnered with a preschool that meets in the building. Rise Church was established in 2018. We have an average weekly attendance of 70 people, and ministries including children, students, men’s, women’s, and the deaf.

Rise Church is seeking a new full-time senior pastor. The senior pastor will partner with the current eldership in providing spiritual guidance, general oversight and leadership to the congregation, fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and the fulfillment of the church’s mission and vision. This role requires a dedicated servant-leader committed to biblical teaching and compassionate care.

Reports to: the elders

Benefits: approximately $65,000; health insurance is available

Responsibilities include:

1. Preach and help plan the Sunday morning services.
2. Collaborate with Worship Leader, Children’s ministry leaders, and other church programs to shepherd churchgoers and develop spiritual formation.
3. Alongside the elders, implement the vision of Rise Church.
4. Oversee church staff and facilitate regular church staff meetings.
5. Conduct baptisms, weddings, and other ceremonies at the church.
6. Visit shut-ins and those in the hospital in conjunction with the elders.
7. Help the elders build and execute the strategic vision for the church.
