Senior Minister

Central Christian Church is a multi-generational congregation located in downtown Jonesborough, Tennessee, the oldest town in Tennessee. We are active in our community. We have bible studies available almost every day of the week. We team with the town to host several events throughout the year. We are family to one another. Many of our members are not from the area and have moved here, leaving their biological families far away. So, we become the family for so many of our members.

Central Christian Church is seeking a new full-time Senior Minister. The Senior Minister is expected to create and maintain positive relationships with Christians and non-Christians. Responsibilities include all aspects of ministerial care and administrative duties, as described below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Spiritual Leadership: Preach inspiring sermons, teach biblical doctrine, and provide spiritual guidance to the congregation in conformity with our biblical beliefs.
• Pastoral Care: Conduct pastoral visits, offer counseling, and support members through life transitions.
• Church Vision: Engage in the vision, mission, core values, fruit of the Spirit, and the four healthy missional markers of Central Christian Church. These markers are 1) the Centrality of the Word of God, 2) Practicing a lifestyle as described in Practicing the Way, 3) Support for global and local missions, and 4) Active in community outreach.
• Leadership Team Oversight: Collaborate with staff, Elders, and ministry team leaders to oversee church operations and ministries.
• Community Engagement: Actively participate in local community initiatives and represent the church in interfaith dialogues.
