Anchor of Hope and Galena are family-based and mission-oriented congregations in the Presbyterian tradition, dedicated to bringing glory to God through worship, fellowship, and service. We are caring congregations, joyfully bringing Christ to our families, friends, communities, and the world. We are committed to the values of love, mercy, and justice, offering a safe place of hope. Our churches are focused on a future where we continue to share the knowledge and love of Christ. We are studying to become Matthew 25 churches. The community worships in Anchor of Hope for one service and Galena for the other.

Anchor of Hope and Galena are seeking a new full-time Pastor to be over both church buildings. We want to make sure our churches are viable and relevant; therefore, we are looking for a pastor who will collaborate and faithfully lead our congregations and bring Christ to our communities. The person who is called to our congregations will have a heart for small church ministry. They will be open and welcoming to everyone, accessible to members of the congregations and communities, with an ability to understand and communicate God’s word to our multi-generational congregations.

Responsibilities for the position:

• Lead worship and administer the sacraments
• Provide pastoral care for the congregation and for all who seek comfort and guidance
• Use current and new technology
• Officiate at weddings and funerals
• Serve as moderator of the session
• Assist committees in their ministry
• Advise youth group
• Train new elders and provide communicants classes for those seeking membership
• Visit shut-ins or those in the hospital, taking communion to them as appropriate
• Participate in the presbytery
