Milligan maintains educational partnerships and articulation agreements with several colleges that match coursework between institutions and help you make a smooth transition when transferring to Milligan. These agreements are designed to maximize the number of credits that you will be able to transfer and to minimize your time to a degree.

TENNESSEE TRANSFER PATHWAYS
Milligan participates in the Tennessee Transfer Pathways program, whereby students completing associate degree programs in certain identified programs of study at Tennessee community colleges can transition seamlessly to Milligan University as a junior. Learn more »
ASSOCIATE OF ARTS/ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE TRANSFER AGREEMENT
Any student entering Milligan University for the first time in fall 2016 or later is eligible to be considered for the A.A./A.S. Transfer Agreement. Under this agreement, any student who has completed an associate of arts or associate of science degree from a Tennessee community college will be considered to have met all general education requirements at Milligan University, with the following exceptions:
- Students will be required to complete three Bible courses: BIBL 123 Old Testament Survey, 124 New Testament Survey, and 471 Christ and Culture.
- Students will be required to complete one semester of HUMN 101, 102, 201, or 202, assuming they lack three or four credit hours of courses that contribute to the content of Humanities.
- Students will be required to complete the ethnic studies requirement.
- Students will be required to complete any pre-requisites for upper-division courses.
- Students enrolled in bachelor of arts degree programs will be required to complete the foreign language requirement of competency at the intermediate level or higher. The intermediate level is the 200-level for German, Greek, and Spanish.
- Students enrolled in teacher licensure programs will be required to complete all courses necessary to meet state licensure standards.
Note: This agreement does not apply to students who have been awarded an associate of applied science degree.
NORTHEAST STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE – NURSING AGREEMENT
Nursing students at NSCC can co-enroll in 200-level nursing courses at Milligan. Students, who meet progression requirements, can transfer to Milligan after completing their associate’s degree and be granted junior status in Milligan’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Students interested in this path should talk to their NSCC adviser first.
- NSCC university parallel Associate of Science degree program with emphasis in Nursing
- Apply for enrollment as a special (non-degree-seeking) student at Milligan
- Once admitted, students will take two semesters (13 hours) of Milligan courses (NURS 202/202L; 203; 210/210C; 220/220C; 240) in fall and spring immediately before matriculation to Milligan
- These course will be charged at the NSCC tuition rate per credit hour plus fees
- Students should take Biology 2010 and 2020 at NSCC as early as possible
- NSCC university parallel Associate of Science degree program for the LPN to RN student
- Apply for enrollment as a special (non-degree-seeking) student at Milligan
- Once admitted, students will take two semesters of Milligan courses (NURS 201/201C; 202/202L; 203; 240) in fall and spring immediately before matriculation to Milligan
- These course will be charged at the NSCC tuition rate per credit hour plus fees
- Students should take Biology 2010 and 2020 at NSCC as early as possible

Ask our Transfer Counselor about other schools we have articulation agreements with. These agreements can help ensure that you take the right courses now to transfer to Milligan.
If no articulation agreement currently exists with your institution, planning for transfer remains a simple process. Meet with a Milligan admissions counselor and mention the name or names of the schools of interest. The Admissions Office and Registrar’s Office at Milligan will evaluate transcripts and, using catalogs from the community college, choose courses that are appropriate to meet general education and major requirements.
GRADUATE ADMISSION AGREEMENTS
LAW:
John J. Duncan, Jr., School of Law, Lincoln Memorial University: This agreement outlines a streamlined admission process for Milligan baccalaureate degree holders at LMU-DSOL and establishes several scholarship opportunities, as well as a significant discount on tuition if students meet certain academic requirements. Additionally, LMU-DSOL will work with representatives from Milligan to inform their students about the process of applying to law school and provide resources to help them prepare for the Law School Admission Test. PHARMACY:
Gatton College of Pharmacy, East Tennessee State University: This agreement facilitates the application process for students desiring to pursue the Doctor of Pharmacy degree through a Guaranteed Interview Agreement. For more information, contact Milligan’s Office of the Registrar.
Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences: This agreement expedites the admission process for qualified Milligan students who want to pursue the doctor of pharmacy degree at Mercer University. The affiliation agreement allows Milligan students who meet specific criteria to receive a guaranteed admission interview at Mercer.
South College School of Pharmacy: This agreement expedites the admission process for qualified Milligan students who want to pursue the doctor of pharmacy degree at South College. The affiliation agreement allows Milligan students who meet specific criteria to receive a guaranteed admission interview at South.
Union University School of Pharmacy: This agreement expedites the admission process for qualified Milligan students who want to pursue the doctor of pharmacy degree at Union University.
