As a hybrid minor, students deepen their understanding of scripture, theology, and church history while also working with music faculty to develop their fundamental music skills and learn the practical dimensions of planning theologically sound worship. This minor also helps students to develop the personal and spiritual maturity necessary for worship leadership.

What to Expect with a Worship Leadership Minor

The Worship Leadership minor prepares students for worship leadership that is scripturally sound and musically and artistically competent. Students will learn how to approach worship leadership in ways that reflect sound theological, philosophical, cultural, and practical understandings of ministry. They will be prepared to understand, communicate, and perform in a variety of musical styles, in addition to interpret Christian scripture responsibly. All Worship Leadership minors are also invited and encouraged to participate in all retreats, ministry expeditions, and experiences provided by the Ministry Leadership Program, which equips students with additional practical skills for a lifetime of worship ministry.
