Hearing God's call


MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 28, 2005) — Nashville ministers and Lipscomb University professors Rubel Shelly and John York will deliver a message at Milligan College’s chapel service this Thursday, March 3, on God’s sovereignty and hearing His call.

Shelly, minister of Woodmont Hills Church of Christ in Nashville, Tenn., has authored more than 20 books, several which have been translated into numerous languages. He has taught at Lipscomb University, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Tennessee State Universit.

Shelly holds a bachelor of arts degree from Harding University, a M.A. and M.Th. from Harding Graduate School of Religion, and a M.A. and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University.

Y ork shares preaching responsibilities with Shelly at Woodmont Hills Church of Christ while serving as a professor of Bible and preaching at Lipscomb. Prior to his professorship at Lipscomb, he was in full-time church ministry, serving the Western Hills congregation in Temple, Texas, the Brentwood Hills Church in Nashville, and the Westside Church in Beaverton, Ore.

York holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Abilene Christian University and a Ph.D. in New Testament from Emory University.

Thursday’s chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel located on Milligan’s campus. The service is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Nathan Flora, campus minister, at 423.461.8748.
