MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Nov. 1, 2012) — David Johnson, founder of Silent Images, will speak at Milligan College on Thursday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. in Milligan’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium located in Seeger Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
Silent Images is a nonprofit organization that provides photography and videography services to other nonprofit organizations seeking to tell stories of hope in the midst of persecution, poverty or oppression. These stories and images are used to educate people about global and domestic needs and empowering them to go, give and pray.
A former English teacher from Charlotte, N.C., Johnson is the president and founder of Silent Images. Through image and story, Johnson and his staff document the plight of people in places like Sudan, Darfur, Thailand, and Haiti, as well as the struggles of those closer to home in Charlotte.
In addition to his photography, Johnson has authored two books about Africa. He and his team from Silent Images also teach photography classes in North Carolina.
