MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (July 6, 2011) — The Admissions Office at Milligan College will host a drop-in information lunch session at Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tenn., on Thursday, July 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The session will be held in the Foundations Room of the Dr. Jack E. Campbell College Center Building at Walters State. It is free, and no reservations are required.
The drop-in lunch session will highlight Milligan’s adult and graduate programs, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA), a 14-month program that is offered on the Milligan campus and at Walters State’s Morristown campus. Designed to accommodate professionals working at every level of management, Milligan’s MBA focuses on business leadership from a Christian perspective. Classes meet one Saturday per month and are complemented by ongoing Internet-based instruction.
The session will also showcase Milligan’s degree completion programs for adults in business administration and early childhood education (BS), as well as graduate degree programs in education (MEd) and occupational therapy (MSOT). The session will also include information about Milligan’s online major in computer information systems (CIS).
“We hope that people will stop by on their lunch breaks or whenever they can during the two-hour open house to learn more about our programs and to meet people who can answer their questions about a variety of topics, such as academic coursework and financial aid,” said Courtney Kieslich, director of graduate admissions for Milligan’s MBA program.

The BS in business administration is a degree completion program that enables working adults to complete a business administration major in 16 months by attending class one night a week.
The BS in early childhood education allows adults who have completed about two years of college to complete the child and youth development major in about 18 months at either Milligan or at its off-campus site in Mountain City, Tenn. Teaching licensure in early childhood education (PreK-3) may be obtained by completing additional coursework and a 15-week supervised teaching experience in a public school setting.
The computer information systems-mobile major is designed for students who are unable to complete their degree or add a second major in a traditional college setting. Courses in this major are delivered to the student via Milligan’s Internet course management system and can be easily accessed from anywhere. Students can take just one course at a time or complete the major in as few as four semesters.
The MEd program includes both initial licensure and advanced degree options. The initial licensure degree is typically a 15-month professional educational program that allows students to earn their teaching certificate or license and their degree. The advanced program is for current teachers seeking professional development and their master’s degree. Advanced MEd students have the option of completing their coursework completely online or in a traditional classroom setting.
The MSOT program is the only master’s level occupational therapy program in northeast Tennessee. It prepares therapists to help people with injuries or illnesses to relearn basic living skills. The program is designed for people with undergraduate degrees in a variety of academic fields.
