MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2012) — Trinity Arts Center presents “Hope Finds Joy in the Midst of Sorrow” at Milligan’s Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts Feb. 18-19.
This original, contemporary ballet was created and directed by local ballet instructor Amanda Burrow as a way to express the hope that their family discovered as they battled cancer in her son Layton, who was diagnosed at the age of two. Layton, who is now six years old and cancer free, is one of the key characters. The story provides a glimpse of the physical and emotional challenges of this process. It also speaks to a faith journey in their family and in others that led them to a surprising sense of hope and joy in the midst of the sorrow surrounding their diagnosis.
Performances will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 19, at 2 and 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 with all proceeds benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Call 423.926.6048, or visit trinityartscenter.com for tickets and additional information.
