MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (June 7, 2010) — Young people from the region as well as across the nation are at Milligan College this week, June 6-9, for the summer Bible Bowl tournament.
Bible Bowl is a ministry for youth in grades six to 12 that combines Bible study with Christian competition and fellowship. More than 200 participants including youth ministers and team leaders make up the 37 teams competing at Milligan this week. Winners in certain categories will receive Bible Bowl college scholarships upon admission to Milligan College.
In addition to competing in Bible Bowl, Bible Bowlers experience college life by living in the dorms and eating in Milligan’s McCormick Dining Center. They also enjoy sports, swimming and some local activities.
This is the 46th year for Bible Bowl. Each year hundreds of teams all around the United States study over the course of a 10-11 month period. Teams compete monthly on a local level. There are several summer tournaments held at Christian colleges during the weeks leading up to the National Bible Bowl Tournament to be held July 1-5, in Denver, Colo.
Top achievers are awarded trophies and scholarships to Christian and Bible colleges.
