MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (April 13, 2010) —Milligan College’s “Wonderful Wednesday” celebration begins at 7:45 p.m. today and will go throughout the day tomorrow, Wednesday, April 14. All day classes on April 14 have been cancelled and replaced with a variety of games and activities.
This annual spring “holiday” for the Milligan community is a college tradition dating back to the late 1960s. A veil of secrecy surrounds the exact date and theme of the surprise holiday each year. Activities are planned by the Campus Activities Board.
This year Wonderful Wednesday is themed “Under the Big Top.” Activities begin tonight with a movie at the Stateline Drive In and a late-night game of capture the flag on campus.
Wednesday’s activities begin with a 10:30 a.m. brunch in the cafeteria, followed by the annual faculty/staff hunt at 11:45 a.m. and a “Race the Bells” run at noon. Afternoon events include Big Top games, Ultimate Frisbee, and volleyball, dodgeball and basketball tournaments. There will also be a waterslide and a Buffalo Creek obstacle course. The day concludes with dinner and bowling.
Evening classes will meet as scheduled.
