MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Aug. 5, 2010) — Milligan College’s faculty and staff will take a break from their normal work routines tomorrow, Aug. 6, for the college’s Campus Work Day.
The annual work day invites faculty and staff to help with the final touches of sprucing up the campus for the beginning of the fall semester. Projects will include painting, trimming, landscaping and cleaning around the 181-acre campus.
“We have a wonderful maintenance staff and volunteers who have worked all summer to get the campus ready for fall,” said Milligan President Don Jeanes, who along with his wife, Clarinda, has made the continual improvement of campus facilities and grounds one of his long-term objectives. “The work day is a tradition we look forward to because it’s a chance for faculty and staff from different departments to work together on the last-minute touches before we welcome our students back to campus in mid-August.”
The work day will kick off with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. in McCormick Dining Center located in Sutton Hall. After breakfast, employees will divide into groups and complete a checklist of indoor and outdoor projects around campus. The day will culminate with a “thank you” picnic lunch at noon in McMahan Student Center.
“We have a beautiful campus,” said Jeanes. “And the faculty and staff support is further evidence of the commitment and community spirit that we have at Milligan.”
