MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2010) — Adrian and Jennifer Fehl, missionaries to Ethiopia, will speak at Milligan College on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
The Fehls work as church planting missionaries among the Gumuz and Oromo peoples of Western Ethiopia. They have trained elders and evangelists, built and operated a medical clinic and provided infrastructure improvements such as clean water wells, latrines and grinding mills.
After 10 years of located ministry in the village of Yasow, Adrian and Jennifer and their four children have relocated to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Adrian is the team leader of the Christian Missionary Fellowship (CMF) church planting team in Ethiopia, and he also serves as the primary liaison with the national partner church established by CMF.
Adrian graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1988. After serving as an officer for four years, he left the U.S. Army to enter Emmanuel School of Religion in Johnson City, Tenn., to prepare for full-time ministry. He earned a master of divinity in Christian doctrine in 1996.
While in Tennessee, Adrian met and married his wife Jennifer, a graduate of Milligan. Adrian worked as an associate minister at Lone Oak Christian Church in Johnson City from 1993 to 1997. In the summer of 1996 the Fehls participated in a REACH international internship to Ethiopia through CMF.
“That experience confirmed that God was calling us to missionary service,” Adrian said.
