“Lost in Life” exhibit opens Oct. 18 at Milligan

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 7, 2009) – “Lost in Life,” a photography exhibit depicting inspiring scenes of children and farm life, opens Sunday, Oct. 18, at Milligan College.

The show by Milligan senior Lydia Marshall runs through Oct. 24 in the Milligan Art Gallery, located in the lower level of Milligan’s Derthick Hall. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Oct. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Marshall, a native of Charlottesville, Va., spent the last three years compiling “Lost in Life,” which focuses on two series of pictures portraying children and farm life. Her goal was to capture the things in life that make people happy.

“The moments most cherished in life are the ones where people are living their lives to the fullest, without hesitation,” Marshall said.

After completing her undergraduate degree in December, Marshall plans to pursue a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She wants to work in a children’s rehabilitation center and believes her photography has influenced this career path.

“I want every child to have the ability to live life to the fullest,” she said.
