MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 8, 2009) – Tim Snyder, a leader of several nationally recognized schools, will speak at Milligan College’s convocation service on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. in Seeger Memorial Chapel. He also will speak later that evening at a Diversity Forum at 6 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge in the McMahan Student Center. Both events are free and open to the public.
Snyder, a Milligan alumnus, is currently the principal of Simon Rivera High School in Brownsville, Texas. He has worked in the Brownsville public school system for 25 years, where he has taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels. He has also served as adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Brownsville.
For the last 15 years, Snyder has served as a school administrator, including 10 years as principal. Under his leadership, several Brownsville schools were recognized by the Texas Education Agency, Texas Monthly magazine, U.S. News and World Report, Newsweek, the Washington Post and the University of Texas at Austin.
