MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Oct. 28, 2010) —Alice Anthony, associate professor of art at Milligan College, is a featured photographer at East Tennessee State University’s “Reunion: Invitational Exhibition of 100 Alumni” in celebration of the university’s centennial year.
The exhibition will be on display until Oct. 29, at ETSU’s Slocumb Galleries in Ball Hall and will also show on Nov. 5, at the Tipton Gallery at 126 Spring Street, Johnson City.
On display is her photo, “Lilly at Graceland,” which captures a dog dressed up like Elvis Presley in front of a wall at Graceland.
Anthony and the other 99 alumni were nominated by ETSU faculty for their affiliation with prestigious academic institutions, artists, museums, or galleries, or for their successful independent careers in photography.
Selections from Anthony’s Graceland series are also on display at the Appalachian Photographers Project exhibition at the ETSU Reece Museum until Jan. 13. The exhibit can be viewed for free during regular hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Anthony is among a select group of local emerging and established photographers who have compiled a significant and focused collection of work.
She is currently in her 19th year of teaching photography at Milligan.
