College grads are hot commodity

Employers to recruit Milligan grads at Career Expo 2004

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (March 1, 2004) — The pendulum in hiring college graduates is swinging. While President Bush recently announced that the nation expects to see 2.6 million additional jobs this year, CollegeGrad.com, the number one entry-level job site, says college graduate hiring is projected to increase by 12.9% for 2004.

College graduates are a hot commodity and Milligan College’s Career Development Office knows that Milligan graduates are exceptionally in-demand. Area business leaders and employers will be on campus this Tuesday, March 2, to recruit future Milligan graduates at the college’s Career Expo.

Several local and national employers will be recruiting for various careers, from healthcare to business administration to education. Attending employers include Mountain State Health Alliance, U.S. Air Force, Alliance Data Systems, Frontier Health, Bill Yates Insurance Agency, New York Life Insurance Company, the Johnson City Cardinals, Mountain Mission School, Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System and Mandarin Christian School of Jacksonville, Fla., among others. Graduate schools that will also be recruiting are Milligan College, East Tennessee State University, and Savannah College of Art and Design.

“Our students are not only exceptionally prepared for their careers, but they’re interested in how their career helps them fulfill their calling as Christians,” said Leslie Glover, director of student success, who oversees the college’s Career Development Office. “That makes for very dedicated and high-performing employees.”

The Career Expo will be held tomorrow, March 2, in the Fireside Lounge of McMahan Student Center from 12 noon to 3 p.m. For additional information, please contact Leslie Glover at 423.461.8981.
