Rebecca McClain serves as Adjunct Instructor for Organ in the Music Department. Her primary responsibilities are playing organ for events in Seeger Memorial Chapel and teaching applied organ lessons. She also serves as collaborative pianist for the Concert Choir.
Professor McClain holds degrees in both business and music. She completed Bachelor of Music in piano and Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting degrees at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, a Master of Business Administration degree at Georgia Southern University, and a Master of Arts in Music degree with concentrations in piano and organ at Wesleyan College. She also completed a Certificate in Injury-Preventive Keyboard Technique at Salem College and was awarded a Service Playing Certificate from the American Guild of Organists.
She excelled in her career in business, achieving Certified Public Accountant status in Texas (now retired) and retiring as Chief Financial Officer of Savannah-Chatham County Public School System in Savannah, Georgia. After retirement, she started a private piano studio and continued her work as a church organist, which she began at age 15. Her path from coastal Georgia to Tennessee is a series of events where God placed people in the right place at the right time. She is excited about the opportunity of using her talents at Milligan.
