Family Weekend to begin Friday


MILLIGAN COLLEGE , TN (Feb.17, 2004) — Milligan College Family Weekend will kick off Friday, Feb. 20. The weekend, coordinated by the sophomore class officers, is a time for students to give their families a taste of college life and an opportunity to sightsee in the Northeast Tennessee Region.

Events scheduled for Friday include registration from 3:30-6:00 p.m., a senior photography exhibit featuring the work of senior Andrew Hopper at 8 p.m., an honors recital at 7:30 p.m. in Seeger Chapel, and open dorms from 7 p.m.-12 a.m.

Activities resume Saturday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. with the Dean’s List Ceremony to recognize those students who were named to the academic dean’s list in 2003.  The ceremony will be held in Seeger Memorial Chapel and will be followed by a reception in Lower Seeger.  Saturday brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Saturday evening, Milligan basketball hosts Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Brevard College in their final regular season contest.  The women’s game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and the men follow at 7:30 p.m, Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.  Senior players will be recognized following the women’s game.

Parents also are invited to visit SUB-7 Coffee House in McMahan Student Center, which opens at 9:30 p.m.  Once again dorms will be open from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Family Weekend activities conclude on Sunday night with a Vespers worship service at 9 p.m. in Lower Seeger.
