MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 5, 2024) — Milligan University Assistant Professor of Music Dr. David Brickle will perform a faculty piano recital on Friday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary B. Martin Auditorium in Seeger Chapel. The recital is free and open to the public.
This special evening of music will feature classic works by Chopin and Bach, in addition to new favorites by New York-based composer Victoria Bond.
“I travel for most of my performances, which can be a lot of fun, but giving a recital on campus is a special opportunity to bring music that one might not hear every day to our students and local community,” said Brickle.
Brickle teaches piano and music theory at Milligan. He has performed widely throughout the continental United States, Puerto Rico and Spain, and his performances have appeared on National Public Radio’s “Performance Today” and ETV Radio’s “On the Keys.” He has won numerous awards and has been a featured guest soloist in various concert series and in duo piano recitals with pianist Chia-Ying Chan.
Brickle completed his doctorate and master’s degree in piano performance at Florida State University and his bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the University of South Carolina. Brickle regularly serves on the faculty of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and has previously taught at the MasterWorks Festival and the FSU Summer Piano Institute and Piano Camp.
