MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2021) — Audiences will have two opportunities to experience the glorious sounds of the season at the annual Milligan University community Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 4, and Sunday, Dec. 5.
New this year is the addition of reserved seating. Tickets are free but required and can be obtained by visiting https://www.milligan.edu/christmas/. In accordance with Milligan’s COVID policies, masks will be required for all audience members.
“For many years, the Milligan Christmas concert has ushered in the Christmas season for the campus and the Tri-Cities region,” said Dr. Kellie Brown, chair of Milligan’s music area. “The beautiful music and the glow of candles has warmed hearts during the time of Advent as we celebrate the time of waiting for the Christ Child.”
The identical performances will feature Milligan’s choirs, orchestra, and 46-rank Schantz pipe organ in the beautifully decorated auditorium. The concert also includes a carol sing-along and will conclude with a moving candle-lighting and singing of “Silent Night.”
“The loss of this event in 2020 because of the pandemic left a noticeable void,” said Brown. “We are so pleased to be able to share this special event with the community again.”
