Milligan is grateful to the following companies who have provided state-of-the-art facilities and industry support for the engineering program financially and with equipment, technical and curricular advice, or internships and co-ops.
Major industry leaders, such as Eastman, Eastman Credit Union, TPI Corporation, Nuclear Fuel Services, Bell Helicopter, Siemens, BrightRidge, CMF International, Arconic, and others have supported the Milligan engineering program. They are excited to welcome Milligan engineering graduates into the engineering profession.
Here’s why:
“I applaud Milligan for coming up with a different approach. We need more problem-solvers, particularly with the education of engineers to solve the world’s problems. Thank you, Milligan, for running such a fantastic show, thank you for your faith, and thank you for what you’re doing for the future.”
– David Golden, retired senior VP & chief legal officer at Eastman
“Thanks for what you are doing to build an engineering program at Milligan which I believe will be an important step forward for our region. I believe your efforts to create a strong engineering program is a compelling one consistent with driving the region toward STEM education.”
– Perry Stuckey, senior VP and chief human resources officer, Eastman
“ECU’s board of directors recognizes the positive impacts being made by Milligan’s students and the professional program designed by their faculty. It’s great to see opportunities like these, which allows students to graduate from local institutions prepared for internationally sought-after careers, with employers right here in Northeast Tennessee.”
– Olan O. Jones, retired CEO and president of Eastman Credit Union
“NFS is proud to support Milligan’s new engineering program. Milligan has a long and outstanding record of providing a high-quality education and attracting high-quality students. Numerous Milligan graduates work as a part of the NFS Team and are well educated and ready to enter the workforce. In addition, their personal values and standards align with the high demands of the nuclear industry.”
– Joel W. Duling, former NFS president and current president of BWXT Nuclear Operations Group
“I think it’s certainly going to be beneficial for us having somebody local that provides this type of curriculum. The markets that we sell – electrical and mechanical – mesh with the type of students that Milligan’s going to train in this program. I think that the establishment of the engineering program at the school is going to benefit people here in ways we can’t really fathom yet.”
– Aaron Cox, vice president of marketing and part owner, TPI Corporation
“It’s wonderful that a high-quality, nationally-ranked college in our area can now plug in to the engineering that is so desperately needed here by so many industries. All you’ve got to do is go to Unicoi County, go to Kingsport, Johnson City, Bristol and then spread out from there, and you have an enormous demand for the engineering product. That’s what Milligan’s offering now, and I’m so delighted to be a part of that. I’m going to continue to be a part of it and it’s going to end up being one of the big lifesavers for the expansion and continued growth of our area.”
– Bill Greene, CEO of BancTenn and Milligan Trustee
