MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (August 17, 2016) — A series of oral history seminars will explore Milligan College’s rich history, in honor of the college’s sesquicentennial this year. The seminars will be offered each Tuesday, Aug. 23-Oct. 11, at 6 p.m. in the second floor of Derthick Hall and are free and open to the public.
Taught by beloved retired Milligan professors, experts and influential leaders, the series, “History through the Eyes of Milligan,” will feature a range of topics discussing Milligan’s relationship with American Reconstructionism, the Stone Campbell Movement, the Navy V-12 and more.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to learn how Milligan survived, thrived and flourished in the midst of world events, from its founding to present time,” said Dr. Bert Allen, professor emeritus of psychology and organizer of the seminar series. “It’s important that people understand the history of those who came before us and laid a foundation for everyone here at Milligan.”
