MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (March 17, 2016) — Milligan College senior Abi Bethea believes everyone is searching for belonging.
In her upcoming photography exhibit, “Finding Home,” Bethea will touch on those themes and more. The show opens in the Milligan Art Gallery in Derthick Hall on Sunday, March 20, with a reception from 2-4 p.m. The reception and show are free and open to the public.
“I believe each of us is searching for belonging in the places we go and with the people we meet,” said Bethea, who is a photography and psychology double major from Toccoa, Georgia. “We find our homes when we are given the confidence and courage to become our best selves. ‘Finding Home’ is a personal tribute to the people and places that have molded me into who I am.”
The photos in her exhibit range from Bethea’s Georgian hometown to her travels through Europe and a small foster home in China.
After graduation, she will be embarking on a six-month adventure to Glacier National Park in Montana, where Bethea will work in a bakery, and hopes to complete a road trip around the perimeter of the country. She plans to pursue a career as a clinical psychologist.
Bethea’s exhibit will be on display until April 1.
