MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 29, 2008 ) — The Milligan College Concert Choir, Women’s Chorale and Orchestra will combine their talents with the East Tennessee State University Choir for a performance on Friday, April 18. The 7:30 p.m. concert will take place in Seeger Memorial Chapel on the Milligan College campus.
Under the direction of E.T.S.U. music professor Dr. Thomas Jenrette, the two collegiate choirs will present the masterwork “Requiem” by French composer Maurice Duruflé. The performance also will feature Milligan professor Dr. David Runner in one of the most challenging organ parts in the sacred choral literature.
“The musical collaboration on this concert is a very exciting opportunity for the performers and will be an equally great experience for the audience,” said Dr. Kellie Brown, associate professor of music at Milligan.
Additional works will include “Cantique de Jean Racine” by Gabriel Faure and “Five Mystical Songs” by Vaughan Williams.
