MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Feb. 21, 2011) — “An Aesthetic Experience,” an art exhibit by Milligan College senior Ashley Fennell, will be on display in the Milligan College Art Gallery from Sunday, Feb. 27, through Saturday, March 5.
The opening reception is Feb. 27, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the gallery, located in the lower level of Derthick Hall. It is free and open to the public.
Fennell’s body of work focuses more on content rather than meaning in an attempt to challenge people’s perceptions of art.
“I want people to enjoy the experience of my art instead to trying to understand the meaning behind the work,” said Fennell.
The exhibit features a variety of media including paintings, drawings, paper sculpture and photographs. Her original, handmade photobooth and the photographs taken in it by Milligan students will also be on display.
