Angela Hilton-Prillhart
Associate Dean of the School of Social Science and Education; Professor of Education
Dr. Angela Hilton-Prillhart serves as the Associate Dean for the School of Social Sciences and Education and the Area Chair of Education at Milligan University. Her primary responsibilities include overseeing accreditation, teaching in the doctoral program, and managing all activities related to state licensure for teachers, instructional leaders, and school counselors. Her research focuses on creating trauma-informed environments and developing academic interventions, with a particular emphasis on assessment and support for individuals with dyslexia.
In 2022, Dr. Hilton-Prillhart led the Area of Education’s accreditation review with the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), which resulted in Milligan receiving the prestigious Frank Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement Award. Throughout her career, she has published extensively in respected journals, including School Psychology Review, Gifted Child Quarterly, Psychology in the Schools, Journal of Intellectual Disabilities, Journal of Applied School Psychology, Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, Contemporary School Psychology, and Research and Practice in the Schools.
Dr. Hilton-Prillhart’s faith has been shaped by watching her father minister to children and families on a church-led bus route during her childhood. His grace, love, compassion, and ability to see the best in others greatly influenced her approach to life and work. At Milligan, she treasures the strong connections she forms with students and feels blessed to work with what she describes as “the best colleagues on the planet.”
