MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2026) — Milligan University’s Ministry Leadership Program welcomes high school students from across the region to participate in the university’s Pursue Conference on Sept. 25-27.

The Pursue Conference invites students in grades 9 through 12 to discover a variety of ways to serve in ministry and missions. The weekend balances fun activities and worship with guidance from practitioners and professors for discerning God’s call to ministry, all within a supportive community.

“The Pursue Conference is an opportunity for high school students who are sensing a call to vocational ministry to reflect on their calling, hear from ministry students and connect with practitioners,” said John Emmert, director of Milligan’s Ministry Leadership Program. “They’ll gain a clearer understanding of what it means to be called, what a life in ministry can look like and how to prepare for their ministry. We also hope students gain an appreciation for how important ministry is to Milligan University and what an exceptional community our campus, students and faculty represent.”

The conference will offer workshops, dynamic worship and sermons, and connections with peers from the region and across the country. Students will learn more about the specific roles in a variety of vocations, including church leadership, student or children’s ministry, preaching, worship leadership, missions, and parachurch executive leadership.

The Pursue Conference reflects the Ministry Leadership Program’s mission to prepare the next generation of ministry leaders by combining the best in academic and theological training with practical ministry experience and one-on-one mentoring from ministry leaders.

Emmert notes that Milligan’s ministry students will be integral to the execution of the conference and to providing guidance to high school students.

“From welcoming our high school students to helping lead sessions, our students are excited to build relationships with students who are considering ministry,” said Emmert. “Milligan’s students hope this weekend will serve the local church by helping younger, future ministry leaders understand their calling to ministry. Additionally, our students will gain firsthand experience in executing a ministry event.”
