MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Aug. 14, 2026) — Milligan University celebrated its annual Campus Work Day. Each year, the university’s faculty and staff join the facilities staff to complete final campus enhancements before students arrive for the academic year.
Faculty and staff kicked off the morning with the opportunity to reconnect and enjoy fellowship over breakfast before working with peers from different offices and academic areas to mulch, landscape, paint and organize.
“We are grateful to have the opportunity to gather our faculty and staff back together after the summer,” said Milligan President Dr. Stephen Waers. “We join together in service of our students. Campus Work Day is an act of welcome and an embodied form of prayer for our students. We’re excited to kick off the new academic year.”
Milligan’s Campus Work Day honors some of Milligan’s most important values — a close-knit community learning and growing together on a beautiful campus nestled in the Appalachian Mountains.
As students return, they will not only be greeted by a beautiful campus, but they also will benefit from the completion of several projects in the university’s ongoing Infrastructure for Excellence initiative. These investments include major upgrades to campus safety and security systems, along with updates to digital systems. Milligan has begun the renovation of Webb Hall, one of the men’s dormitories, and is finalizing the new Ballad Health Simulation Lab for the health sciences.
Move-In Day for new students will be Saturday, Aug. 22, with classes beginning Tuesday, Aug. 25.
