MILLIGAN, Tenn. (April 24, 2026) – Milligan University held a dedication ceremony for the campus’s newest building, the Greer Pavilion. The pavilion honors Bill and Edwina Greer, Milligan’s 15th president and first lady, and their devoted service to the university.
“We are thankful for the decades of service Bill and Edwina have devoted to Milligan,” said Milligan President Dr. Stephen Waers. “We can’t think of a better way to honor them than by dedicating this building that will gather people in support of our values of scholarship, community and faith.”
During the ceremony, Greer reflected on the significance of the new space: “I hope this pavilion will be a constant reminder that relationships among the people who make up this community are central to our identity and our culture as an institution.”
The pavilion provides an idyllic gathering space for students and campus events as it sits in the heart of campus and provides a scenic view of Buffalo Mountain. Located beside the McMahan Student Center, the Greer Pavilion is easily accessed by students, faculty and visitors.
“The Greer Pavilion is a special gathering place to honor the way President Emeritus Bill Greer and his wife, Edwina, have poured their lives into Milligan University,” shared Cal Wilson, the chair of Milligan’s Board of Trustees. “We expect the Greer Pavilion to be a favorite gathering place for many fun events. It is an expression of our love for the Greers and their devotion to lovingly developing our future leaders.”
The pavilion was funded by private donations, and the ceremony was held during Milligan’s biannual Board of Trustees meetings.
