MILLIGAN, Tenn. (April 22, 2026) – Milligan University is pleased to announce the winners of the 30th annual Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibit’s guest juror, Matthew Childers, selected 22 works out of 34 entries to feature in the gallery.
Awards of Excellence were presented to Mary Grace Bitting, Jayci Brauman, Ariana Floyd, Grace Krell, Emy Rose Leggett and Eliza Slater. Awards of Merit were given to Spencer Hall, Joselin Martinez, Mirra Medvedeva, Eloria Pelton, Grace Sanderson and graduate student, Tara Stewart.
The Juried Art Exhibition showcases the talents and skills of Milligan art, photography, graphic design and interactive media design students. The exhibit is located in the Milligan Art Gallery inside Derthick Hall. The exhibit will remain open through Thursday, April 23.
This year’s guest juror, Childers, is a Tennessee-based illustrator and designer with more than 20 years of professional experience in advertising, publishing and visual storytelling. Over the course of his career, he has created work for national brands including 3M, McDonald’s, MGM, Nickelodeon and Disney/Marvel Entertainment.
In recent years, Childers has partnered with nonprofit and mission-driven organizations such as Bellafina Chocolates, International Storytelling Center, and People Inc., helping them elevate their visual communication through illustration, branding and website design.
