Milligan, Tenn. (Jan. 29, 2026) – Milligan University is pleased to announce two new appointments to the university’s Board of Trustees.
“I am excited to welcome Erin McDade and David Powers to our Board of Trustees,” said Milligan President Dr. Stephen Waers. “Erin and David are both familiar with our mission and values. We are excited about the wisdom and experience they bring to our board.”
McDade serves as director of advancement at CMF International in Fishers, Indiana, and Powers is senior vice president of the east division of Christian Financial Resources in McDonough, Georgia.
“Erin and David are both Milligan alumni, and they bring unique perspectives and strong connections to our churches to the board,” said Cal Wilson, chair of Milligan’s Board of Trustees. “Erin has been instrumental in helping people connect further with God’s global mission through her position with CMF International. David brings significant ministry experience, business acumen and a deep commitment to the flourishing of our churches from his current position with Christian Financial Resources. We are confident both will bring wisdom and discernment to the Board of Trustees.”
Erin McDade
As part of CMF’s executive team, McDade provides organizational leadership and oversees all organizational fundraising and partner relations, as well as leads missionaries in their support-raising training. Prior to her role with CMF, she was director of the Semester in Ministry Program at Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, Maryland, an immersive internship program in partnership with Milligan. McDade graduated from Georgia Tech before earning her Master of Arts in Religion from Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan.
She and her husband, Nathan, have two daughters, Elsa and Addie. They attend Traders Point Christian Church.
David Powers
Powers is a 1990 Milligan alumnus who began his career at a software company before answering God’s call to full-time ministry. He served in ministry at local churches for 25 years, including as the executive minister at McDonough Christian Church and Momentum Christian Church. He then transitioned in 2019 to working with Christian Financial Resources where he currently serves today.
Powers and his wife, Amy, have two children, Ashley and Tyler. They are members of Momentum Christian Church.
Milligan’s Board of Trustees is currently composed of 27 active members whose combined experience, dedication and vision provide leadership and guidance to shape Milligan’s goals, policies and fiscal management. The board is a self-perpetuating board with members serving five-year terms.
