MILLIGAN, Tenn. (April 17, 2025) — Milligan University’s Occupational Therapy (OT) new graduates in 2024 received a 100% pass rate on the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.

“We are proud of our incredible students and dedicated faculty and staff on achieving a 100% pass rate for new graduates,” said Dr. Ashleigh Lingerfelt, program director, chair and assistant professor of occupational therapy at Milligan. “Their hard work, perseverance and commitment to excellence have truly paid off. This remarkable accomplishment reflects the strength of our program and the bright future ahead for our graduates.”

In addition to graduating from an accredited program, students must pass the NBCOT exam to become certified occupational therapists. This exam demonstrates that graduates have the essential skills and knowledge to practice within the field of occupational therapy.

This achievement comes as Milligan’s OT program celebrates its 25th anniversary of training students to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Milligan OT’s combination of rigorous academics and a supportive, faith-based environment sets this program apart and produces occupational therapists who serve with compassion and professionalism.

“Our program has a rich history of preparing occupational therapists to be servant-leaders in health care,” said Lingerfelt. “Our program provides hands-on learning experiences within our local community each semester. This allows our students to build necessary skillsets while simultaneously meeting the need for occupational therapy services within our community.”

Milligan’s OT program begins a new cohort each fall. Applications for the 2025-26 academic year will be accepted until June 10. For more information, visit www.milligan.edu/msot.
