MILLIGAN, Tenn. (April 1, 2025) –The Milligan University Orchestra, under the direction of Milligan’s Area Chair of Music Dr. Kellie Brown, will present the concert “Earth, Air, Water, Fire” on Saturday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary B. Martin Auditorium in Seeger Chapel.

In honor of Earth Day, the concert celebrates the beauty and wonder of God’s creation through a musical exploration of the four elements: earth, air, water and fire.

“Composers throughout the world and throughout history have been inspired by the natural world,” said Brown. “This concert’s broad range of repertoire will showcase the many styles and genres that composers have used to represent the tangible and intangible.”

The concert will feature musical works including “Cherry Tree” by Yukiko Nishimura, Gustav Holst’s “Moorside Suite,” Scott Joplin’s famous ragtime tune “Heliotrope Bouquet,” Soon Hee Newbold’s bluegrass inspired “Blue-Fire Fiddler,” Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Whistle Down the Wind,” and James Taylor’s iconic song “Fire and Rain.”

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, visit or contact the music office at music@milligan.edu or 423.461.8723.
