Milligan’s ‘Two Cats + A Herd of Buffalo’ exhibit returns to Dos Gatos, Feb. 7

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Feb. 5, 2025) — The artwork of Milligan University students will be on display throughout February in the annual exhibit, “Two Cats + A Herd of Buffalo,” at Dos Gatos Coffee Bar in Johnson City, Tennessee.

The show’s opening night and reception will occur on Feb. 7, 6-8 p.m. during Downtown Johnson City’s First Friday. The event is free and open to the public. Artwork will remain on display through Monday, March 3.

“First Friday is an excellent opportunity for our students to exhibit their academic projects and the growing perspective and skills they bring to each assignment in our art and design courses,” said Kelsey Ellis, instructor of art at Milligan. “It’s also a chance for them to participate in the region’s creative community. We are always thankful for the support of Dos Gatos and their owner, Dick Nelson.”

The show highlights the creativity of Milligan’s students in art, graphic design, photography and interactive media design. The exhibit will feature over 50 pieces by 25 students.

For André Bazzana Semensato, a senior graphic design major, this exhibit allows Milligan students “the chance to exhibit our work in downtown Johnson City and show off Milligan’s program. We are thankful to have a place like Dos Gatos that opens their doors to Milligan’s work. The opening night is always a lot of fun. We can hang out with and support friends, see good artwork, and enjoy good coffee.”
