MILLIGAN UNIVERSITY, Tenn. (March 15, 2022) — Milligan theatre brings a classic board game and motion picture to life with “Clue,” in the McGlothlin-Street Theatre located in the Gregory Center, March 24-26.
Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie, which was inspired by the classic Hasbro® board game, “Clue” is a fast paced, farce-meets-murder mystery.
Set in the iconic Boddy Manor, on a stormy night, audience members are invited to a very unusual dinner party. Join the iconic characters known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock and Mustard as they race to find the murderer before it’s too late.
“I’m excited for our students to bring to life the characters in Clue from the classic board game,” said Jamie Buxton, assistant professor of musical theatre. “This new stage adaptation draws on the same comedic and mysterious elements from the film with even more laughs and hijinks, making for a very entertaining evening.”
The Boddy Manor consists of nine rooms, brought to life by an elaborate set featuring three large turntables, flying walls and many other surprises.
“I knew the set design would be a challenge to execute, but technical director Brian Saxton and the entire technical team have made it look easy,” said Anna Shelton, who portrays Miss Scarlet. “I loved playing Clue growing up and I always wanted to be Miss Scarlet. It’s surreal that I get to bring her to life in my own way!”
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m., March 24-26. All seats are $10. Tickets can be purchased in advance at milligan.tix.com.
