Milligan, TN (Dec. 8, 2021) — Milligan University has received reaffirmation of its accreditation for the next 10 years from its accrediting body, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The decision was announced at the SACSCOC annual meeting this week.
SACSCOC is the recognized accrediting body in the 11 U.S. Southern states for those institutions of higher education that award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, or doctoral degrees. All institutions accredited by SACSCOC are required to undergo a review for reaffirmation of accreditation every 10 years.
“Such an outcome is evidence of our longstanding commitment to quality, effective governance and leadership, outstanding faculty, and strong physical and financial resources. It demonstrates that we serve our students well and that we are equipped to do so for years to come,” said Milligan President Dr. Bill Greer.
SACSCOC accreditation allows Milligan to participate in federal (Title IV) and state financial aid programs. It is a confirmation for constituents and the public of the institution’s continuing commitment to quality and integrity as well as its capacity to provide effective programs and services. These outcomes are achieved through rigorous internal and external peer review processes during which the institution is evaluated against a common set of standards.
“Reaccreditation is a multiyear process that involves many people across campus,” said Greer. “I’m grateful for every member of the Milligan community whose diligence and commitment to excellence make such outstanding outcomes possible.”
Milligan University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, master’s, education specialist, and doctoral degrees.
