MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (March 20, 2018) — Hosted by Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan College this year, the 17th annual Stone-Campbell Journal Conference is an academic gathering presented by Stone-Campbell International, which provides a scholarly platform for the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement.
The conference will take place Friday and Saturday, April 6-7, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and 8 a.m.-1 p.m., respectively, on the college’s main campus.
The Stone-Campbell Movement is a religious community committed to the restoration of New Testament Christianity and the unity of all believers. Milligan maintains an active relationship with the churches of this movement.
The theme for the 2018 conference is “Theology of Others: Judaism, Islam and ‘None-of-the-Aboves.’” More than 50 papers will be presented on topics biblical, theological, historical and more.
Plenary speakers include Ellen Charry, Margaret W. Harmon Professor of Theology, from Princeton Theological Seminary; Evertt Huffard, dean, Harding School of Theology; and Richard Knopp, professor of philosophy and Christian apologetics, Lincoln Christian University;
“Emmanuel and Milligan have always had a strong presence at the Stone-Campbell Journal Conference, so we are very excited to host this year’s conference for the first time,” said Dr. Jeff Miller, professor of Bible. “It will be an incredible showcase of academic work within the Stone-Campbell tradition.”
