MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (March 1, 2018)—Milligan College’s theatre area presents its spring theatrical production, “Rabbit Hole,” by David Lindsay-Abaire, March 22-24 at 7:30 p.m. and March 25, 2:30 p.m. in the McGlothlin-Street Theatre located in the college’s Gregory Center. The play, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 2007, deals with mature themes, delving into the complexity of a family navigating deep grief and learning what it means to live a fruitful life when things fall apart.
“This is a beautifully written play touching on themes of family and coming to terms with grief,” said Richard Major, professor of theatre at Milligan and the director of the play. “It is also a play which will definitely touch the heartstrings of every person who will see it. This will be the first time the play has been presented in this region and one which will make a deep impression on audience members.”
The play features a cast of Milligan students headed by senior Kristen Branch, Mountain City, Tennessee, as Becca; freshman Drew Hawkins, Brooklet, Georgia, plays her husband, Howie; senior Michaela Williams, Cocoa, Florida, was cast as Becca’s sister, Izzy; sophomore Meaghan Rodgers, Johnson City, will play Becca/Izzy’s mother, Nat; and senior Bradley S. Harvey, Jr., Siloam Springs, Arkansas, will perform as Jason.
Sophomore Patrick Lines of Fullerton, California, served as stage manager while Pamela Adolphi served as theatre technical director, as well as costume, scenic and lighting designer.
“Once again, Milligan’s resident designer, Pamela Adolphi, has created a beautiful space for the play to be performed on, as well as an excellent lighting and costume design,” said Major.
