MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (January 23, 2018) — Milligan College will host an evening with the Mountain Movers Dance Company, a modern dance ensemble that weaves stories from thin air, on Friday, Feb. 2, 7:30 p.m. in the McGlothlin-Street Theatre located in the college’s Gregory Center. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m.
“The Milligan Arts Council is happy to welcome back this incredible dance ensemble to perform in our state-of-the-art theatre,” said Art Brown, assistant professor of communications and chair of the arts council. “Aerial dance has proven to be extremely popular with people of all ages, all over the world, so we’re excited to host this family-friendly event that features the art of dance.”
Through cutting-edge aerial techniques, dancers suspend, spin, drop and fly on floor, fabric trapeze and aerial hoop. Established in 1982, Mountain Movers Dance Company works from Azure Aerial Arts studio, where their members train, teach and create. They also are the resident modern company at East Tennessee State University.
