MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2016) — Students interested in studying music can audition for scholarships at Milligan on Friday, Feb. 26, and Friday, March 18, from 2-6 p.m. in Seeger Chapel.
These talent-based awards are based on the quality of the audition and the applicant’s potential for success as a music major. Scholarships are available for students majoring in music performance, jazz studies, music education or music business.
Music scholarships also are available for non-majors who audition to participate in an ensemble, including strings in orchestra, singers in the choirs and band instruments for jazz ensemble, as well as piano and organ.
Music scholarships can be combined with academic awards available for a total of up to $19,000 per year.
“The music area at Milligan is a strong and energetic program that offers wonderful opportunities to music students of all interests,” said Dr. Kellie Brown, chair of the music area.
In order to audition and be eligible for the scholarships, students must first apply to Milligan, then fill out the music scholarship application, found here: www.milligan.edu/academics/music/#scholarships.
