MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (April 10, 2015) – For anyone interested in finishing their degree or earning a master’s degree in business or education, representatives from Milligan College will buy you a cup of coffee at “Coffee and Conversation,” a relaxed opportunity to learn more about program offerings at Milligan and the college’s campus at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education (KCHE).

“Coffee and Conversation” will be held on Tuesday, April 14, from 7-11 a.m. at Hibbert Davis Coffee Company located at 240 E Main St, Kingsport, Tennessee. The Bagel Exchange, 107 W. Center St., Kingsport, TN 37660. Representatives will be available to discuss degree completion programs for adults in business administration and education, as well as graduate degree programs in business administration (MBA) and education (M.Ed.).

“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in finishing their degree or continuing their education to learn more in a relaxed, low-key environment at one of the best coffee shops in the area,” said Courtney Kieslich, director of graduate and professional studies. “We are excited to talk about the programs Milligan offers and to work with prospective students in order to give them an idea of how they can further their education.”

The following programs are highlighted during the session:

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in business administration is a degree completion program that enables working adults to complete a business administration major in 16 months by attending class one night a week. In addition to the Milligan location, the BS in business administration with an emphasis on operations management is periodically offered at KCHE.

The BS in early childhood education allows adults who have completed about two years of college to complete the child and youth development major in about 18 months. Teaching licensure in early childhood education (PreK-3) may be obtained by completing additional coursework and a 15-week supervised teaching experience in a public school setting. This program also will be offered at KCHE.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a 14-month program that meets one Saturday per month, complemented by ongoing Internet-based instruction. The program is designed to accommodate professionals working at every level of management and focuses on business leadership from a Christian perspective. Milligan’s MBA offers three specialized tracks in leadership, healthcare management and operations management. In addition, Milligan now offers an opportunity for individuals who already possess an MBA or equivalent degree to earn an executive certificate in one of the three specialized tracks.

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) program includes both initial licensure and advanced degree options. The initial licensure degree is typically a 15-month professional educational program that allows students to earn their teaching certificate or license and their degree. The advanced program is for current teachers seeking professional development and their master’s degree. The advanced M.Ed. program is a hybrid of online and on-campus options, allowing students the convenience of online courses and the opportunity to interact face to face with the knowledgeable, caring education faculty.
