MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (March 16, 2015) — Prospective students interested in studying nursing can attend “Nursing Buff” Day at Milligan College on Friday, March 27. Check in starts at 8:40 a.m. in the Hardin Hall lobby and is open to high school juniors, seniors and college transfers.
Following a welcome session in Wilson Auditorium, potential nursing majors will have an opportunity to learn about financial assistance and scholarships available at Milligan.
Students then will attend an information session about the nursing program with Dr. Melinda Collins, chair of the Area of Nursing and associate dean of the School of Sciences and Allied Health. Collins, who has been a registered nurse for 25 years and previously practiced in Nashville, Tennessee, and the Tri-Cities area, has taught at Milligan for more than 20 years. Collins will answer questions and give students insight into the curriculum and profession.
Also, future “Nursing Buffs” will have a chance to engage in a student panel discussion that provides details about campus life at Milligan, as well as the nursing program.
To finish up their day, students and their families will eat lunch in McCormick Dining Center and have the option to take a guided tour of campus.
For students interested in learning about Milligan’s new engineering program launching in fall 2016, there will be the inaugural “Engineering Buff” Day on Friday, March 20.
