MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Dec. 1, 2014) — The deadline nears for spring registration in Milligan College’s dual enrollment classes, which allow high school students to get a head start on their college career at a discounted rate of $100 per credit hour or free if participating in the Tennessee Lottery program.
Students must register by Friday, Dec. 19, to enroll for the spring semester.
Through the program, high school juniors and seniors can attend classes taught by Milligan professors while also finishing their high school education. Milligan accepts students from private and public high schools, along with homeschooled students.
“Milligan’s dual enrollment program gives high school students a glimpse into the future,” said Jason Makowsky, director of admissions. “Not only do they get a head start on completing their degree, students get a sense of a college workload and their potential academic interests.”
Dual enrollment students earn both high school and college credit that can be transferred to their school of choice. They also receive the benefits of being a Milligan student—experiencing life on campus, spending time in a college classroom setting and having access to a plethora of materials and resources through Milligan’s library and interlibrary loan system.
Each credit hour is offered to high school students at the discounted rate of $100. Students can take up to seven courses per semester for this price. Some students may even be able to enroll in a course for no cost through the Tennessee Lottery program, which awards dual enrollment grants up to $300. Visit www.tn.gov/CollegePays to learn more.
