MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Nov. 14, 2014) — Whether you’re a “history buff,” a “sports buff,” a “science buff” or an “arts buff,” prospective students will experience what it’s like to be a Milligan College Buff at a visit day event on Friday, Nov. 21.
Named “Be a Buff” Day in honor of Milligan’s mascot, Brutus the Buffalo, this visit day will provide high school juniors, seniors and college transfers, as well as their families, with a snapshot of campus life packed into one day.
The event includes opportunities for students to meet one-on-one with current students and faculty, tour campus and attend information sessions and break-out sessions highlighting Milligan’s more than 100 programs, pre-professional degrees and concentrations in a variety of fields.
“‘Be a Buff’ Day gives students a taste of the Milligan community,” said Jason Makowsky, director of admissions. “They can talk with students about campus life and meet with faculty and staff to understand just how involved we are in the lives of students at Milligan.”
“Be a Buff” Day begins with check-in and a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., along with a welcome session at 8:30 a.m. in the Gregory Center. Families can then attend a financial planning session while students attend a session called “24/7 life” where they hear about daily life at Milligan from current students.
After lunch, students and their families will take a campus tour led by Student Ambassadors. Following the tour, everyone will break out into their areas of interest at the Academic Fair and speak with professors and students about specific programs.
